New Year 2011

Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas, I know my family and I did! Our family was truly blessed this year. We had a wonderful time with family and friends, and to top it all off we got about 4 inches of snow!!! We normally don't see snow down here until February, if we see any at all. I believe it is safe for me to say this has been the very best Christmas ever :-) Now that New Year's is right around the corner I guess it is time for me to make some resolutions. I know that loosing weight is one that I make every year, I could stand to loose a few pounds this year! However, the number one resolution on my list this year is to make the most of my remaining time at Kaplan. I will be finished later next year, and I want to finish knowing that I did the very best I could. One of the main reasons I made the decisions to go to back to school was to show my children that I could do it! The last several months that I have been in school have been difficult for me. I stay at home with my two very young children, and one of them is currently in speech therapy to help him with some speech delays and is getting ready to receive more therapy for some more delays so that he will be ready for preschool. So needless to say they take a lot of my time! Through it all, my husband has been very supportive of my decision to go back to school. He keeps me motivated and makes sure I have all my work completed! I am very determined to finish strong in 2011! I know I can do it :-) Happy New Year everyone!!!

  2. Hi Gale! Looks like we may have more in common than just our kids. I also made the decision to go back to school, among many reasons, so my children would want to get their degrees.

Wow four inches of snow! I live in Colorado and for the first year I can remember, we had a dry Christmas. Actually we really haven't seen snow at all this year aside from the mountains. Crazy how global warming is taking affect these days. I'm glad you had a great Christmas:)

  3. Hello Gale. I know exactly how it is to have children's doctors or therapy appointments eat up time. My youngest son was born with bilateral hip dysplasia and vertical talus. He had his hip surgery when he was five months old and now at fifteen months he is finally done with therapy. Along the way he has also had eye doctor appointments, as he is farsighted, and also dermatology appointments, for a mole/birthmark that needs to be surgically removed. And now since his hips are all healed up we will be nearing his other corrective surgery for his vertical talus. I can't tell you how much time and energy is spent driving to doctors and therapists, but then again it sounds like you understand completely. Atleast the time is being spent on correcting a problem that could get worse if it is put off versus just being wasted. I'm glad you and your family had a wonderful Christmas and good luck on a strong finish this coming up year!

  4. Thank, Gale! I did have a great Christmas; I got to spend time with my fiancé who mostly works out of Texas. I am glad to read that you have a great Christmas and got to spend lots of time with lots of family. I like your resolution for making the best here at Kaplan, and I am sure you will do great! I do not have a resolution; I haven’t really put much thought into what needs to be changed, except for maybe making for time for myself. I hope you have a great New Year!
